The APF Forestry Show – Warwickshire.

The ROAVR team took the last minute decision to exhibit on the demonstration circuit at the APF Forestry show – we truly went back to our roots!

Occupying stand 1290 we created quite a stir amongst the static and demonstration forestry machinery.  We were interviewed by CONFOR and The Forestry Journal so expect to see brief write ups soon!

The three days were a unique opportunity to show the forestry and arboricultural industry what our UAV’s can achieve.  Conversations where held with a number of high profile organisations from across the UK, Europe and Eire.  Projects ranged from disease monitoring in mature stands, aerial photography for forest planning, protected species monitoring (Osprey nests) and promotional videos and photos for tree surgeons.

We also spoke to the Monster Aerials team who were on site videoing the pole climb with their impressive cinema rig carrying a Red Epic 5k camera.

Several full size helicopter pilots stopped to speak with us and air their concerns over the integration of UAV’s into manned airspace.  We were able to shed some light on the process and offered to give some talks to HEMS pilots across the UK.

A fantastic show!  Our arm was bent and we are also now CONFOR members.  2016? We’ll be back on the ground and in the air!
